A few of those students recently returned from the SkillsUSA state petition

The HVEDC's work includes forming a partnership between SUNY New Paltz and the 3-D printing pany MakerBot to create an innovation center at that college. Gottlieb said the Hudson Valley's strength in the 3-D printing revolution is its abundance of design and creative professionals."This is a technology that could work anywhere," said Gottlieb. "It can create a new generation of individual manufacturers that we haven't seen probably in decades, and that's always exciting to me."The metal shop at Reed High School is a lot like the island of 'Pirates of the Caribbean Fame,' housing the Black Pearl's pirated riches it's known only to those who already know where it is.China Germany-style Drill Machine Vise suppliesSeasoned students can be spotted easily maneuvering around large machines that pose immediate threat to first-time visitors to the shop near the back of the east Sparks school. A few of those students recently returned from the SkillsUSA state petition, pitting Nevada's best high schoolers in workforce and trade skills such as welding fabricating, sheet metal working and precision machining. Reed juniors Eryk Allen and Kelsey Hicks both returned with state championship medals in precision machining and sheet metal working, respectively, clinching spots in the national petition taking place June 23-28 in Kansas City, Mo. Both students work out of the Enterprise Project Signature Academy at Reed under long-time instructor Timmothy Conley, who said both students deserved their victories in Las Vegas in March. "Our kids did great," Conley said.Precision Vises supplies "These kids all have the talent to podium finish at a national petition, but they have to have the motivation and the effort."Conley said class time for students in the program is limited to only 90 minutes a day and petition time ranges between two and four hours at the state level, and up to eight hours at the national level. Both students who brought home the gold worked primarily after school and on weekends to hone their skills, which Conley said es with pros and cons as a teacher."Offering all these various areas for students to pete is difficult but it has its advantages at the same time," Conley said. "We do get to go out and do these petitions, but some schools don't teach the same programs as others or they have fewer programs. We have an area where we can do just about everything and it is nice.

Medical Center Hospital officials said MCH is currently using this equipment for urology, gynecology and cardiovascular procedures.Aksade pointed out to the students in a late-morning session that the device can be used for thoracic and abdominal procedures, including heart and cancer surgeries, but it is not used for some surgeries, such as appendectomies, and it cannot be used for brain surgery. To use the machine, students placed their hands on controls and were able to move around the surgical instruments, which had clips at the end and could pick up rubber bands and move them around. The machine features hardware and software ponents. In the auditorium, students looked at a TV monitor that showed students experimenting with the da Vinci Si as Aksade spoke about his experiences with the machine and answered questions. "I thought it was really cool," said OHS junior Nithin Shakamuri, adding he liked how it can move with precision. "It's more exact that than the human hands can be."Shakamuri said he intends to go into the medical field.Jamie Knotts, da Vinci area sales manager at Intuitive Surgical who is based in Corpus Christi, attended the session and discussed the advantages of the da Vinci Si, which has a list price of $1.75 million. He said there are 2,200 units in the United States, mentioning one of those units is at MCH."We're just scratching the surface," he said about this technology, adding the pany has just introduced the da Vinci Xi, which is the fourth in the generation of this technology.

Why was Ypsi hit so hard?

There are a number of factors that have contributed to Ypsilanti's slow climb from its great economic fall.Melissa Milton-Pung, an economic development specialist with the Eastern Leaders Group, said that Ypsilanti's slow recovery is due, in part, to the loss of large employers in the region. "Particularly looking at how GM was one of the largest employers in the munity before closing its facilities, that was a major employer in this munity that's no longer here," Milton-Pung said.CAT Drill Chuck Holder manufacturers "We lost over 1,100 jobs from 2005 to 2007 when GM closed their Willow Run powertrain location. Overall we've lost 13,914 manufacturing jobs since 2001. You have people who were accustomed to doing an honest day's job in manufacturing jobs who have lost those jobs and who now don't have all the skills necessary to pete in this changing economy." The trickle-down effect started from there, she said,DIN69871 Drill Chuck Abror manufacturers as the loss of jobs resulted in foreclosed homes and a lack of spending power. Eighty-four percent of the foreclosures in county during the recession happened in Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township and Pittsfield Township – the three regions that employed most of the displaced manufacturing workers.Susan Moeller, a professor of economics at EMU and a member of the Ypsilanti City Council, said that there is a lack of high-wage jobs in the city and that's also put a damper on the recovery. "People have left Ypsilanti since the factories closed, and the Michigan economy caused them to lose their jobs and move out of state… e have not replaced any higher-paying jobs yet," she said."Many homes in Ypsilanti could not be sold and have been turned into rentals…"Ypsilanti has been trying to cast its appeal to potential job creators for years. That win epitomised the rags-to-riches element of this extraordinary tale

That win epitomised the rags-to-riches element of this extraordinary tale, as he only gained his place in the Group One after the Swiss businessman Alfred Schneider supplemented him at a cost of €18,000 in exchange for a 25pc share for the day.Boom colt Zoustar is set to run in next month's T.J. Smith provided he shows no ill effects from a barrier trial win at Rosehill on Monday. The $18 million colt impressed as he booted through along the fence to beat Longshoreman and Royal Descent on a heavy surface. But a final check on him will be conducted before his place is confirmed in the $2.5 million sprint on the first day of the Championships at Randwick on April 12. "We will see how he pulls up, but that was what we wanted to see. Trainer Chris Waller will have a look at him before making the final decision," Widden Stud owner Antony Thompson said. "Jimmy Cassidy said he went well. Obviously there was no spectacular time on that ground but we're happy enough with that."Waller decided to run Zoustar without the nose roll and tongue tie he had on when he was a well-beaten eighth resuming in the Canterbury Stakes on March 15."It was exactly what I wanted to see from Zoustar. I can't fault his work," Waller said. "First-up I think he might have been a bit above himself in condition and might have given a muscle a bit of a pull in the race."He had always had the nose roll and then the tongue tie this preparation but it wasn't doing anything for him, so we let him just be natural." Cassidy believed the gear being off had helped Zoustar, who improves each time he rides him."He had nothing on and just felt happy in himself. The other day he wasn't happy with anything," Cassidy said. "Obviously we would have liked a better track but if we do get a wet day we know he will handle that."I can't fault him. He feels good. He feels the same as the spring."Later in the morning T.J.-bound Rebel Dane and Aeronautical had a blow-out in a 900m trial behind Zaratone. Rebel Dane worked to the line solidly to go down by a head under Glen Boss, leaving trainer Gary Portelii smiling. "His recovering after that gallop was unbelievable. By the time he got back to me, you wouldn't have known he had gone around," Portelli said. "He will have one more gallop probably next Tuesday and go straight into the T.J.

If GSA intends to also report this information regarding unclassified

Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon said the agency makes travel information available to Congress and the public when they request the information under public records laws. "If GSA intends to also report this information regarding unclassified, non-mission travel, we would have no objection at all," Fallon said. The report was released Thursday, nearly 19 months after Republican lawmakers began questioning Holder's use of an FBI jet for travel unrelated to Justice Department work. The group is eyeing a full-fledged exchange for the agreements

The group is eyeing a full-fledged exchange for the agreements, which would be regulated on the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, if approved.Tera hopes to bring derivatives contracts, an established instrument for hedging risks in the greater financial sector, to Bitcoin. The contract would be used to reduce the risk large businesses or financial institutions face while making transactions in the digital currency, which has seen wild swings.Under the contract, an online retailer such as Overstock or TigerDirect could enter into an agreement with an investor or financial group for a transaction at a specified Bitcoin exchange rate. The seller or business would pay a fee to the backer at the time of initial transaction. After a certain period of time set forth in the contract, if Bitcoin's value had dropped, the backer would pay the merchant the difference. As a first-run, there is currently one such swap agreement between two undisclosed parties, for a single multimillion dollar transaction, Tera said.Tera is seeking permission from the CFTC to provide the swap instrument for trading on a regulated marketplace, along with other swap agreements operated by its exchange arm. The CFTC did not immediately respond to a request for ment on its plans for offering such a tool.Such a swap agreement could lead to "greater acceptance of Bitcoin in the marketplace," said Leonard T. Nuara, president of Tera's exchange arm, the Tera Exchange. Tera's move to add more safeguards into Bitcoin es as financial regulators take an interest in the currency. In New York, financial regulators recently said they would be accepting applications for virtual currency exchanges in that state, as they seek to learn more about the risks and mercial applications of the technology. Bitcoin still faces an uncertain future as governments in other countries take a more critical view, and vulnerabilities in the underlying technology b e known. The collapse of Mt. Gox, once the most prominent exchange, showed how vulnerable the system could be to cyberattacks and possibly theft.Tera Group, which is based in Summit, New Jersey, operates a number of other interest rate swaps and credit default swaps through its exchange arm.

GameInformer contacted Microsoft and were able to get a"ment about future audio improvements

GameInformer contacted Microsoft and were able to get a"ment about future audio improvements. A representative emailed them saying, "we're always listening to what our customers want, and yes, we have many updates in the pipeline to continue to evolve our audio capabilities. We'll have more details to share in the future."That's the latest news we have on getting surround sound support in the u"ing audio adapter, we will update our readers with the latest information once more information reaches the surface of the web.The headset itself will retail for $79.99, and those who require the adapter only will only have to pay $24.99. Do you look forward to having surround sound in the u"ing audio adapter? Comment below, we'd love to hear what you have to say!Just last week, we saw Microsoft put the Xbox One headset adapter up for pre-order where the device would be released on the 25th of February, which is today. Now it should be noted that the headset adapter will only have stereo output through the controller,R8 End Mill Holder manufacturers but according to Albert Penello, the director of product planning for the Xbox One, surround sound could be"ing in the future. According to Penello, he explained that the Xbox One team chose stereo over virtual surround when they planned the headset and the adapter. However he added, "We are discussing some sort of virtual surround, but I think the high quality Stereo sound the Bass on our headset is amazing, plus great chat, and the adapter for $80 is a pretty great product." By $80, Penello is referring to the Xbox One headset which includes the adapter. The adapter itself is priced at $25. He also explained why they went with stereo sound, stating that unless one owns a very high-end pair of headphones, the advantage of surround sound will not be very obvious. "Keep in mind, when you're dealing with only two speakers,China 7:24 End Mill Adapter supplies and we chose higher quality stereo vs a virtual surround, since the advantage of surround isn't obvious until you get into very high-end discreet speaker headphones."The adapter is aimed at Xbox One gamers who might have older headsets that they used with their Xbox 360 and who might not want to switch to a new headset. After all we've seen some gaming headsets retail for hundreds of dollars and to have it rendered useless certainly would not sit well with many gamers out there.

Brush Research Manufacturing

Brush Research Manufacturing , global leader in surface finishing solutions, is announcing an article in the March 2014 edition of Industrial Machinery Digest that serves as a case study for BRM's NamPower nylon abrasive brushes. Orange Vise, manufacturer of CNC machine vises and quick-fixturing'ponents, is using NamPower brushes to automate surface finishing and deburring operations.Instead of removing burrs off-line as a secondary process, part manufacturers can use NamPower technology to perform both tasks on-line at the same time. Automated deburring and finishing improves production efficiency by eliminating time-consuming manual operations. It also improves part quality and consistency since machine-based operations are highly repeatable. Before Orange Vise began using NamPower abrasive brushes, the parts manufacturer required an employee to inspect each part and remove any burrs by hand. The Orange County'pany's CNC machine vises are made of different metal materials, and required time-consuming grinding on non-critical surfaces to create a uniform appearance over the workpiece.Today, Orange Vise is using NamPower brush tools with a high-speed horizontal machining center to achieve a smooth, blended surface finish on machined'ponents. NamPower abrasive disc brushes can also be used with robotic cells and transfer lines. These high-performance industrial brushes work well with cast and ductile iron; mild, stainless, and alloy steels; and titanium and high-nickel alloys. There are two types of NamPower abrasive disc brushes: dot and turbine. The dot-style brush tools that Orange Vise uses are designed for light deburring, surface finishing, and edge blending. Turbine-style NamPower brushes have a heavier fill density for medium and heavy deburring. Both types of abrasive disc brushes have flexible nylon abrasive filaments bonded to fiber-reinforced thermoplastic base. With their unique'bination of ceramic and silicon carbide abrasives, NamPower brushes remove burrs and improve surface finish at the same time. The brush tool's nylon abrasive filaments work like flexible files, conforming to part contours while wiping across part surfaces. As older grains wear, sharp new grains'e into contact with the work surface for a consistent deburring action.

NCAA Will Allow Snapchat As A Recruiting Tool

I used to think that awesome app on my iPhone by the name of Snapchat was a good excuse for ladies to send me pics. They disappear after five to 10 seconds, which means the ladies are a little more loose with the images, rumor has it.The NCAA reportedly will allow the use of Snapchat for a recruiting tool. How awesome would it be to have Mark Dantonio send recruits pics of the Rose Bowl trophy with the caption "enough said."Deep Casing Tools, which has a range of innovative tools designed to land casing and"pletions at target depth within oil or gas wells, has set a new world record in Saudi Arabia for the longest tool run.The turbine powered reaming capability of the Turbocaser? Express enabled the new record of 26,318 ft to be reached successfully. Without rotating the string, 2250 ft of open hole was reamed over a 6 hour period, successfully"pletingSolid Socket with MS Hole with Tang manufacturers the longest measured depth section where Deep Casing Tools has used the Turbocaser? Express.

The new record also included running the longest 7" liner right to the target depth. This achievement broke the previous record set only months before when another 7" Turbocaser? Express reamed through 1800 ft of trouble zone to reach 26,044 ft target depth. This was one of most challenging and critical jobs which was successfully concluded by an engineering and operational team effort.Deep Casing Tools has set a new world record in Saudi Arabia for the longest tool run. The Turbocaser? Express technology was deployed to reduce the operational risk, given the hole geometry and the tight hole conditions, noticed while drilling and pulling out of hole over the final section. Because theChina Morse Taper with Tang supplies Turbocaser Express reams on demand, the wiper trip was eliminated, and during liner operations the tool was activated when tight hole conditions were encountered from 22,450 ft onwards.

This resulted in landing the liner at the exact planned target depth, after which the liner was cemented normally. The next step of drilling straight through the motor has been"pleted.Deep Casing Tools CEO Lance Davis said: "The successful performance of the Turbocaser Express has been rewarded with tool orders over £3 million already delivered to Saudi Arabia. Discussions are in progress for delivery of multiple tools during 2014, including the 5" Shalerunner? for"pletions."Deep Casing Tools' reaming and unique drill through technology provides significant time and cost savings when"pared to conventional methods. With the new ability to ream while running in, the casing can be run sooner while the hole is in best condition, eliminating wiper trips and open hole exposure."

WinSnap 4.5 adds new post-capture pen tool

This quartz-dense instrumental jam develops gradually, like an oncoming storm front slowly moving across the horizon, when, all of a sudden, lightning flashes and a downpour of sound floods the senses. This is one of drummer Danny Carey's finer moments, where he plays with the cinder-block-smashing power of John Bonham in his prime. He's the engine that powers one of Tool's most physical, just plain overwhelming songs. Remember that blanket party scene in "Full Metal Jacket" where Vincent D'Onofrio gets beaten to tears with bars of soap? That's how "Triad" registers. This emotionally charged tune from 1996's "Aenima" was once a staple of Tool's live gigs, but the band hasn't played it much in the past 10 years. On it, Keenan delivers one of his most affecting vocal performances toward the song's grand finale. "As the walls come down and as I look in your eyes, my fear begins to fade," he sings, ostensibly speaking to his son, whom "H." is believed to be about.

It's a tender, unguarded moment from a band whose true sentiments can be as puzzling to decipher as a scrambled Rubik's Cube.Tool's first recorded material was as concise and to the point as the band's latter day repertoire would become expansive and lyrically opaque. This bruising banshee howl is the band at its most confrontational, a profane, three-minute kiss off from its 1992 EP "Opiate," where the group establishes the guiding principle of its career: These dudes are going to do what they want, when they want, and if that means turning antagonism into an art form, so be it. WinSnap 4.5 debuts a completely redesigned and updated user interface, plus adds a host of new tools, including new presets and quick preferences and a number of new drawing tools.

The new release also promises improved support for the most recent Windows 8 Aero theme, plus the usual gamut of tweaks and bug fixes.WinSnap's redesigned user interface now comes with a choice of four different styles: black the default, silver, blue and system. Users can easily switch between these using the new View menu, which is designed to make it easier to quickly customize the UI appearance and style – users will find the four styles accessible via the Style sub-menu.The user interface has also been redesigned with ease-of-use in mind, making program options and key tools easier to access.

New tool demonstrates effects of erosion, sea-level rise on P.E.I. coast

CLIVE brings together data from a number of sources, including LiDAR-based high-resolution digital elevation data from the province. "Our study shows that Prince Edward Island lost 20 square kilometres of land to erosion between 1968 and 2010," said Fenech."At the current rate of erosion, as many as a thousand homes are vulnerable to erosion over the next 90 years."Fenech will do a live demonstration of CLIVE at a lecture tonight at 7 p.m., in the amphitheatre of the Duffy Science Centre. The presentation, Coastal Erosion and Sea Level Rise — Preparing for Prince Edward Island's Future, will discuss how our buildings, roads,"munities and bridges will be affected by coastal erosion and sea-level rise. The CFPB on Friday announced the release of its new online tool for exploring Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data , which allows people to sift through the data available on home loans made in their"munities and"pare it to other locations.

The tool is meant to help people gain a better understanding of consumer access to credit in their areas, CFPB officials said. The Dodd-Frank Act tasked the CFPB with expanding the data collected through HMDA, which the bureau is tackling this year. The bureau will seek public feedback on what should be included in the data and plans to determine the new data points mortgage lenders must report,China CAT FMA Face Mill Holder-Inch supplies though the requirements won't need to be met in 2014."We are considering asking financial institutions to include more underwriting and pricing information, such as an applicant's debt-to-i"e ratio, the interest rate, the total origination charges, and the total discount points of the loan," said CFPB Director Richard Cordray. Houston employs automated traffic enforcement tool

The system is also used by other law enforcement agencies in Middle Georgia, including Bibb and Dooly counties and Byron police. The American Civil Liberties Union has raised privacy issues over the use of the system, but Hall said there is a misconception over how it works. It does not run each person's tag, sending back the name and address of law-abiding drivers.Instead, it takes a photo of the tag of each car, then that number with compared to the Georgia Crime Information Center's hot list of tags with issues. The system scans about 5,000 tags per day."It's an automated process of what officers have already been doing for years," he said. "It's like having a car full of deputies."

In fact,ER Nut manufacturers a car full of deputies couldn't do what Hall was doing with the system as he demonstrated it Thursday evening. On Watson Boulevard, he parked in a turn lane in an area where there are no turnoffs so he wouldn't obstruct traffic. While he was using his handheld radar to check for speeders, the cameras on each side of the vehicle snapped photos of the tags of each car going in both directions. The system has its own computer, which uses Hall's laptop for a monitor, flashing up the photos of the tags as they are taken.Over about 30 minutes, it only alerted once, which Hall said was unusual. That alert was for a stolen vehicle, but he was able to determine immediately that it was the wrong car.The stolen vehicle was from Michigan, but Hall could see from the photo that the tag had a Georgia license plate. The system can't distinguish states, only the tag number, so that's something he has to check before pulling someone over.

Even if the tag matches, he doesn't write tickets based on what the system says. Various errors can wrongly get a tag on the hot list, so he makes the same checks any law enforcement officer would ordinarily make to be sure the charge is valid. While most of the tickets he writes as a result of using the system are misdemeanors, it also has resulted in arrests for more serious crimes."There is a considerable amount of felony activity that is observed, detected and prosecuted because of this machine," he said. "We may stop a car because it has no insurance,China EOC Spanner supplies but then in the car we have found anabolic steroids, crack cocaine and stolen items involving burglaries."

Tool reveals what professors think about diversity

"I think we were able to come up with a concise, sound tool that institutions can use to measure faculty perceptions of diversity," says Lisa Wolf-Wendel, professor of educational leadership and policy studies at the University of Kansas. "Certainly our goal would be to get other institutions to try the instrument and find it useful." Their article on the tool's development and testing appears in the journal Research & Practice in Assessment. In the testing of ACES, the researchers focused on gender, race, ethnicity, and national origin as their terms of diversity. They acknowledge sexual orientation, religious diversity, disability, and other categories could be topics of concern in diversity and that they could be added to future versions of the instrument.

The survey containing 100 items in the ACES categories was sent to all tenure-track, full-time faculty members at a large Midwestern research university. Respondents were 38 percent full professors, 35 percent associate professors, and 26 percent assistant professors. Women represented 47 percent of respondents, international faculty 14 percent, and 17 percent were racial/ethnic minorities.Participants were asked to rate on a scale of 1-5 whether they strongly disagreed to strongly agreed with statements about diversity as it related to their campus, employment, teaching, research, and other areas.

The responses yielded several significant findings, the researchers wrote. Those with positive attitudes toward diversity goals tended to be female, not tenured, and at their institution for less than 15 years. Those who believed their teaching or research reflected issues of diversity were more likely to be female, new to their institution and working in the humanities.Respondents who believed their institution promoted diversity were more likely to be males, white, tenured faculty, and staff and those who had been in higher education longer overall. Those who says they interact with diverse populations as part of their work were most likely to be in the sciences and least likely to be in a professional school.

However, the staff at Stroger said there is no reason why those patients should not get their pain medications rapidly."A lot of our broken bones are seen in our trauma area right next door," Schaider said. "Those patients are seen immediately."Scott Cole has spent several years developing a new tool that easily strips the coating off copper wire for recycling, but the Zoda Wire Stripper hasn't had the sales that he envisioned."I knew it would be tough to get the ball rolling," said Cole, president of Zoda Tools Inc.,TG Collet manufacturers based at his DeLand home where he's lived for 34 years. "Those who see it, make the connection and see the potential, buy it and love it."

An online video at Zodatools.com demonstrates how the tool is used. It retails for $58.50."Wire is everywhere and there's a lot of money to be made in recycling it," Cole said. "This tool is a must-have for scrappers, salvagers, electricians, heating and air conditioning installers and repairmen and anyone who recycles wire."According to Mark McLeod, manager at K&M Recycling in DeLand,China Spring Collet supplies stripped copper wire can net 20 to 30 percent more per pound than wire that still has the coating.Cole spent more than 30 years in the cold-storage building construction industry. His jobs forced him to travel the globe for extensive periods. During those travels to construction sites, he saw a lot of unused wire thrown away as well as recycled.

As the 2008 recession nearly stopped his job opportunities, Cole turned to scrapping as a way to make some additional cash. He even developed a stripping tool about five years ago that was a "crude" prototype to the Zoda Wire Stripper."Each time I used it I thought how I could market this," Cole said.In March 2010, his wife, Deb, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her treatments in 2012 prevented Cole from accepting jobs in Texas and New Jersey that required extensive time away from home. So the couple decided in early 2012 that Scott would stay home and devote his attention to the wire stripper.

All you have to do is choose one of 11 available templates or start from a custom-sized blank canvas. You then use the Layouts and Background tabs to get a rough idea of what you want to design. These tabs are chock-full of options to choose from, whether you want a complete template or just a nice background to build on.QR codes were tracked down pasted to lampposts in cities from Russia to Spain; a telephone number played out eerie audio clues to callers, and a flair for steganography the art of concealing information in images proved to be a must-have. Canva revolves entirely around intuitive controls such as drag-and-drop, so adding, removing, and editing elements on your canvas is almost a no-brainer. This also means that if you're used to design software giving you a hand with page grids and object distribution features, you're out of luck. Canva does show live orientation guides as you drag objects around, but they are not as sophisticated as those used by online typesetting services such as LucidPress.

Canva's simple layout makes it easy to add and remove elements for the perfect design.Use the search function to browse an enormous repository of images, and the Text tab to add free text or stylized text with built-in backgrounds. While many Canva elements are completely free to use, most images you'll see on search results are Premium, and will cost you $1 per image once you download your design. You can, however, easily upload you own photos or graphics, or use ones you have on Facebook, so while Canva's Premium options are certainly tempting, they're not a must.

Rather than overwhelm with options, Canva gives you just a handful of picks. This is evident in the built-in color picker as well: You can change the color used for text and some of the built-in glyphs, but you're first only presented with a limited palette of 5-8 colors that fit your general color scheme. If you know the specific hue you're after, you can click through for a more standard color picker that also lets you feed in a hex color code.By default, Canva shows you only the basic features. Dig a bit deeper to find more advanced ones.
